Building Biology is the study of how our indoor environments affect our health — the air we breathe, the water we drink, the electromagnetic fields around us, and the moisture and materials in our homes. It began in Europe decades ago and takes a whole-home, measurement-first view: rather than guessing, we measure what’s actually present and help you understand it. At its heart, it’s about making the places you live support your wellbeing.
A traditional home inspector checks whether a house is structurally sound and functioning, things like roof, HVAC, electrical, plumbing. A Building Biologist looks at how the home affects the health of the people inside it: EMF and RF exposure, mold and moisture, indoor air, and water quality. The two are complementary. We’re less focused on what’s broken and more on what might be quietly affecting how you feel.
A few common reasons people reach out: unexplained symptoms that seem to ease when you’re away from home, a past water leak or a musty smell, concern about nearby power lines or cell infrastructure, a new baby or a health-sensitive family member, or simply buying or building and wanting to start healthy. If any of that resonates, or you’re just curious, a conversation is a good first step, and it’s free.
We’re based in Asheville, NC and work throughout the Southeast, with clients from coast to coast for the right project. Not sure if you’re in range? Just reach out. We travel, and we’ll tell you honestly what makes sense.
No and that’s intentional. We’re an assessment-only, vendor-neutral practice. We recommend the products that make the most sense for YOUR situation, we don’t perform the remediation, and we have no financial stake in what we find. That independence is the whole point: you get honest measurements and clear guidance you can trust, and you’re free to act on them however you choose.
